  • Howard County COVID-19 Rental Assistance and Eviction Prevention

    RENT AND MORTGAGE PAYMENT ASSISTANCE: Beginning 10/5/2020, residents may contact one of the participating providers (CAC, Grassroots, or FIRN) to complete an application for assistance to pay past due rent and/or mortgage payments and/or to prevent eviction. Applicants must provide proof of Howard County residency and evidence of loss of income due to COVID-related job loss, reduction in hours and/or medical illness. Maximum assistance per household is 3 months of housing expense and applicants must meet income guidelines.

    Eligibility exceptions:
    -If someone has a housing choice voucher or rents a unit in a property owned by the Howard County Housing Commission, they may be eligible for rental assistance from the Howard County Housing Commission. Residents should contact the Housing Commission directly at househoward.org or 443-518-7800.
    -If someone rents a unit owned or managed by Bridges to Housing Stability, they may be eligible for rental assistance from Bridges to Housing Stability. Residents should contact Bridges to Housing Stability directly at bridges2hs.org or 410-312-5760.
