Kids In Safety Seats, Car Seat Assistance Program

CAR SEAT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: Coordinates Car Seat Assistance Programs (CSAP), who provide car and booster seats at a minimal costs to families who cannot afford to purchase them. In addition, there are short-term, special needs loaner programs for children with certain medical conditions. All sites are run as a volunteer service for the community and most programs charge a small fee. Seat availability may vary per site. Purpose is to reduce injuries and death among Maryland children by helping people to obtain and correctly use child safety seats.
*MARYLAND'S CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY LAW: All children under age 8 must ride in an appropriate car seat or booster seat until at least age 8, unless a child is taller than 4'9" prior to the 8th birthday. All children 8-16 years must ride in a car seat, booster seat or seat belt.*
