EMERGENCY SERVICES AND LICENSING: Responds to reports of animals that are in danger, injured, sick, or aggressive. Investigates cases of animal bites ensuring that biting animals are properly vaccinated, tested, and quarantined. Licenses animals to help identify and return lost pets to their owner. Dogs and cats are required to have County licenses. One year license fee for un-neutered/spayed cats and dogs is $15, $2 if neutered/spayed. Three year license fee for un-neutered/spayed cats and dogs is $40, $5 if spayed/neutered. Discounts may be available for people over 60 years of age as well as those receiving permanent disability benefits. Pet must be up to date on rabies vaccination in order to be eligible to be licensed.
