  • Frederick County Health Department, Colorectal Cancer Screening Program

    NOTE: Must be a county resident age 50 or older who is uninsured or under-insured and meet income guidelines. Call for further information.

    It provides eligible individuals with screening for colorectal cancer. Program offers literature and information at health fairs and workshops throughout the county. Speakers are available, depending on schedule, for presentations on Colorectal cancer prevention and screening.

    1) SCREENING: Eligible individuals receive no-cost screening for colorectal cancer. Staff will set up the appointment and complete all necessary paperwork.

    2) DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT: Offers referrals to local doctors' offices or treatment facilities for those individuals who are suspected of having colorectal cancer.  Services and treatment are provided free of charge to income eligible residents.

    3) EDUCATION: Participates in community health fairs to help educate the public on these health issues.
