    VOLUNTEERS: Works with local non-profits to provide needed direct, substantive servce programs that improve the literacy of school children, enhance the health care and living conditions of children and elderly people, help at-rish youth by offering after-school programs, improve shelter and support services for low-income families, and preserve the environment for the Western Maryland communities.

    FSU/READ TO SUCCEED PROGRAM: One AmeriCorps member recruits, trains and retains Frostburg State University student volunteers to support and expand various countrywide literacy programs, under the auspices of the READ TO SUCCEED Program based at FSU. Call for further details.
