OVERVIEW: Community Services Foundation is a nonprofit organization providing social service programs for low income and at risk apartment communities throughout metropolitan Washington, DC. Their programs serve more than 500 young people through their out of school time programs (inclusive of after school, semester break and summer programs) and hundreds of adults and seniors through their health and educational programs. Their goal is to provide the safety net that so many families need to thrive.
1) YOUTH SERVICES AND EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: Offers arts and crafts, games, music and dance, camping, field trips, fitness, swimming and other sports, after school tutorial services, Math Academy, honor roll club, Black-Academics, Spell-Academics, computer training, scouting programs, etiquette classes, and mentorship programs.
2) ADULT PROGRAMS: Offers information and referral for a variety of community resources, parenting skills instruction, informational programs related to family issues and family oriented recreational activities.
3) SENIOR PROGRAMS: Provides arts and crafts, chair and water exercises, games, fishing, bowling, Bible study, music appreciation, trips, workshops on personal enhancement and safety, health screenings, computer classes, and information and referral for community resources.
