ENFORCEMENT: Provides oversight and coordination of all federal and private sectors equal employment opportunity laws, regulations, practices, and policies including:
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin or reprisal/retaliation.
Age Discrimination in Employment Act, which protects employees and applicants 40 years of age or older.
Equal Pay Act, which protects men and women who perform substantially equal work in the same establishment from sex-based wage discrimination.
Rehabilitation Act, which prohibits federal sector discrimination against persons with disabilities (including AIDS/HIV).
Americans with Disabilities Act, which protects individuals in the private sector, and in state and local governments from discrimination based on disability.
