OVERVIEW: Montgomery county law enforcement agency, seeking to improve public safety.
SERVICES:
1) CRIME PREVENTION: Provides information and education on crime prevention measures. Helps communities form neighborhood watch programs. Sponsors operation ID which lends engravers for the marking of valuables.
2) GENERAL POLICE SERVICES: Assures the safety and general welfare of the public by preventing and detecting crime, apprehending criminals, enforcing laws and protecting lives, rights and property.
3) POLICE EXPLORERS: Offers opportunities for youth ages 15-17 to gain experience in the field of law enforcement.
4) P.A.L.: Police Activities League is a cultural, educational and mentoring program for youth ages 7-17. Offers after school tutoring and recreation. Wheaton District only.
