    OVERVIEW: The Frederick County Developmental Center (FCDC) provides specialized health and education-related services that positively impact children, their families and eligible adults in their daily lives.

    1) INFANTS AND TODDLERS PROGRAM:  Provides comprehensive evaluations and services to children birth to 4 years of age.  Eligible children and their families receive services provided in natural environments and within the context of the child’s regularly occurring routines using a coaching model.  

    2) AUDIOLOGICAL SERVICES:  Provides testing, treatment, and/or referrals to resources needed for low income or disabled children. Hearing aids provided for qualified individuals including disabled adults.

    3) DENTAL CLINIC SERVICE:  Dental services provided to children under 18 years of age who have medical assistance or who are uninsured and meet income guidelines.    

    4) SCHOOL-BASED OT/PT PROGRAM:  Provides Occupational (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) services to eligible children enrolled in Frederick County Public Schools.   

    5) RESPITE: As funds are available, respite care is provided for children with special healthcare needs who are receiving services through the Developmental Center and their families.

    Intake and Eligibility: Infants and Toddlers Program eligibility is determined by a 25% delay or greater in any one area of development, a medical diagnosis, or atypical development identified based on a comprehensive evaluation.
