    Agency: Queen Anne's County Department of Community Services

    HOUSING & COMMUNITY SERVICES: Provides a wide range of housing related services to assist residents of Queen Anne's County to acquire and maintain decent safe and affordable housing.

    -Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program (MHRP): Assists low to moderate income households in the county through a state program of low-interest loans for repair/renovation of properties. Applicants must meet income guidelines.

    -Code Enforcement: Enforces housing codes in Queen Anne's County.

    -Critical Workforce Program: Offers second mortgage financing to new home buyers who meet the programs guidelines. The loan cannot exceed 33% of the total purchase price or the appraised value of the home and property whichever is less.  

    -Senior Citizen Home Repair: Offers home repairs to senior citizens, low income and handicapped individuals. The amount allotted for emergency repairs cannot exceed $500. 

    -Emergency Food & Shelter Program (FEMA): Provides a federal grant program to local non-profit agencies that assist low income residents. Funds are also used for food and emergency housing and to help displaced person find suitable housing thru charitable organizations.

    -Special Loan Program: Provides various programs to improve single families and small rental properties for low and moderate income families.

    -Rental Allowance Program (RAP): Provides rent subsidies to low-income residents who are either homeless or have an emergency housing need. Monthly rental allowance payment for up to but not exceed 12 months.
