    OVERVIEW: Provides a wide range of programs to income eligible individuals and families. Services includes community revitalization, assist families in buying homes and affordable rental housing. Also offers subsidized housing options.

    SERVICES:
    1) SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM: Issues vouchers which enable eligible persons to locate housing on their own. Landlords must agree to accept payment from the program and keep their property up to code. Participants pay 30-40% of the total household income toward rent. Waiting list is approximately 3 years.

    2) EMERGENCY MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EMA): Provides financial assistance to homeowners that are facing foreclosure due to involuntarily unemployment or loss of significant income. Call for information.

    3) MARYLAND RENTAL ALLOWANCE PROGRAM (RAP): Offers a 12-month rent subsidy program to low income families who are homeless, in danger of becoming homeless or are in need of emergency housing.

    Intake and Eligibility: Ages 18 and older including families, elderly, and physically disabled persons. Families income may not exceed 50 percent of the median income for the county or metro area in which the family resides.
