ADDICTIONS PROGRAM: Provides evaluations, counseling, and referral services for those who are drug and alcohol dependent. Offers outpatient substance abuse treatment; intensive outpatient program; detox referral; DWI addictions counseling; family addictions counseling; aftercare program; community outreach services; adolescent program, including school-based treatment; detention center treatment program; pre-natal drug and alcohol assessment. NALOXONE TRAINING: Offers an educational program that includes an understanding of opioids, recognizing signs and symptoms of an overdose, proper rescue breathing techniques, proper administration of naloxone, and care for the individual until the paramedics arrive. Individuals must be 18 and older related to and/or working with individuals dealing with opiate substance use. Provided to family members, caregivers, guardians, and health/human service workers. Call for the Overdose Response Training days and times.
ADULT IMMUNIZATIONS: Provided for out-of-country travel, hepatitis B, pneumonia, tetanus, flu shots, rabies, (pre-exposure) tuberculin screening and follow-up. By appointment only.
HIV/AIDS Program: Provided to individuals with HIV. Offers case management is a confidential service helping HIV-infected people find necessary medical and social resources. Available by appointment, 8AM-4PM.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASES: Offers screening for STD's, with follow-up treatment as warranted. 410-228-3223.
COLORECTAL CANCER SERVICES: Provides free examination and screening for eligible individuals over age 50. Eligible individuals are those who meet financial requirements and do not have insurance, or their insurance does not cover cost of screening. SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES: Offers Case managers that assist in locating services for developmentally disabled of all ages. A variety of support services and placements in day and residential programs are provided based on need and availability. 410-376-0024.
PERSONAL CARE: Provides assistance with activities of daily living of the chronically ill, elderly and/or physically disabled who have Medical Assistance.
ADULT EVALUATION and REVIEW SERVICES (AERS): Offers multi-disciplinary evaluations to identify available community resources, provide education and develop care plans to keep health impaired persons at home, or to assist them with appropriate placement.
HEALTHY FAMILIES: Provides screening, referrals and when appropriate, home visits for expectant families and/or families with newborns to promote infant development and parenting. 410-901-2388.
HEALTHY START: Offers case management through home visits to pregnant women and children ages birth to 2 having certain identified risk factors. 410-228-3294.
CHILD IMMUNIZATIONS: Provides free shots to children ages birth to 18 meeting certain eligibility criteria. Appointments preferred call 410-228-3294 for scheduling information.
ADOLESCENT CASE MANAGEMENT: Provides assistance to pregnant teens and at-risk teens obtain needed health and social services. Appointments preferred. 410-901-2388.
FAMILY PLANNING: Provides birth control counseling, contraceptives and pre-natal clinic. Call 410-228-3294.
SCHOOL HEALTH: Provides vision, hearing screening and communicable disease prevention offered at County Schools. Call 410-228-6181. Also offers health centers at the school that specializes in acute sick care and mental health services.
HEALTH EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Provides programs on Nutrition, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention,Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation, Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Injury Prevention and Highway Safety.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Offers retail food service inspections. Issues permits for residential wells and sewage systems. Monitors water quality. Sponsors rabies program. 410-228-1167.
VITAL RECORDS: Provides birth certificates for individuals born in the State of Maryland from 1940 to present, death certificates on file with DCHD for 30 days to qualified individuals. Hours from 9AM to 12PM and 1 to 3PM, Monday through Friday.
